We are proud to present the inaugural joint exhibition for two of the region’s most promising emerging realists, Ro Bodell and Shannon L Gaub. This collection is a study in creative tension, pitting meticulous control against bold, contemporary narrative.
Both artists are distinguished alumni of the prestigious Gage Academy Still Life Atelier. They honor tradition by employing Old Master painting techniques to imbue everyday subjects with profound, contemporary meaning.
Shannon L Gaub is a master of technical precision. Her still life paintings transform often-overlooked objects into subjects of quiet beauty and fascination, rendered with meticulous detail and control. Her deep appreciation for the way light interacts with form—and her reverence for reflective surfaces—is unmistakable. Through her work, Shannon invites us to slow down and see the extraordinary in the everyday.
Ro Bodell contrasts this precision with unbound, expressive passion. Using saturated color and bold, loose brushstrokes, she explores powerful, contemporary themes like longing, loss, judgment, and joy. Her dynamic compositions infuse traditional forms with abstract elements, demanding an emotional response from the viewer.
This exhibition is a compelling dialogue between technical brilliance and narrative depth. It is a unique opportunity to acquire work from two artists defining the future of contemporary realism, united by One Modern Voice.
